In this issue of AgriWorld UK, we are pleased to feature RenEnergy UK Ltd as our Energy Company of the Month.
RenEnergy was founded in 2006 with a clear and enduring vision: to make clean energy both practical and profitable. From the outset, this principle has shaped the company’s approach to delivering renewable energy solutions that are both technically effective and commercially viable. Over the past two decades, this focus has enabled RenEnergy to establish itself as a trusted partner within the UK’s renewable energy and decarbonisation sector.
The company’s journey reached a significant milestone in 2023 when it became part of the Aggreko Group, a global leader in engineered energy and temperature solutions. This acquisition marked a major step forward in RenEnergy’s evolution, strengthening its access to international expertise, technical capability, and large-scale delivery resources. It also positioned the business to support increasingly complex, multi-site energy infrastructure projects across the UK and beyond.
Headquartered in Blofield Heath, near Norwich in Norfolk, RenEnergy UK Ltd operates from Blofield Business Centre and delivers projects nationwide. From this base, the company supports a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, public sector, and agricultural clients, providing tailored clean energy systems designed to help organisations reduce emissions, improve efficiency, and strengthen long-term energy resilience.
At its core, RenEnergy is a specialist commercial renewable energy engineering company operating within the UK’s distributed energy and decarbonisation landscape. Its integrated offering includes solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, and intelligent energy management technologies. Together, these technologies enable organisations to take greater control of energy consumption, reduce exposure to volatile energy markets, and significantly lower carbon emissions.
As energy systems become increasingly complex and organisations face mounting pressure to meet net zero targets, the need for integrated, scalable solutions continues to grow. RenEnergy’s approach is designed specifically to address this challenge by combining technical engineering expertise with long-term strategic energy planning. This ensures that solutions are not only effective at the point of installation but remain adaptable as regulations, technologies, and operational demands evolve.
A key differentiator for RenEnergy is its fully integrated end-to-end delivery model. The company provides a complete service covering consultancy, feasibility studies, system design, engineering, project management, installation, and ongoing asset management. This end-to-end approach ensures clients benefit from a seamless experience and a single point of accountability throughout the entire project lifecycle.
By managing every stage internally, RenEnergy reduces complexity for clients while improving consistency, quality control, and performance outcomes. It also ensures that systems are designed with long-term operational efficiency in mind, rather than short-term installation priorities. In sectors where energy reliability, compliance, and uptime are critical, this level of oversight provides significant value.
RenEnergy works across a wide range of industries, including commercial and industrial operators, public sector organisations, and agricultural enterprises.
Each sector presents its own challenges, particularly in relation to energy security, cost volatility, and sustainability commitments, all of which require carefully tailored solutions.
In agriculture, the company has played a particularly important role in helping farms transition towards greater energy independence. Agricultural operations such as grain drying, cold storage, livestock housing, and food processing are highly energy-intensive and require constant, reliable power supply. This makes them particularly vulnerable to fluctuations in energy pricing and grid dependency.
RenEnergy has supported agricultural clients in deploying solar PV and battery storage systems that significantly reduce reliance on grid electricity while improving operational control. Increasingly, farms are viewing energy not simply as a fixed overhead but as a strategic asset that can be actively managed to improve profitability, resilience, and long-term sustainability.
To support this transition, RenEnergy offers flexible financing solutions, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). These arrangements allow customers to access renewable energy systems without any upfront capital investment. Instead, energy is purchased at an agreed fixed rate, enabling immediate operational savings and greater long-term financial predictability.
Alongside financing flexibility, the company also provides long-term asset management services designed to ensure continued system performance. These include monitoring, preventative maintenance, and optimisation services tailored to each client’s operational requirements. This ongoing support ensures systems remain efficient and continue to deliver value throughout their operational life.

By combining roof-mounted and ground-mounted solar PV, EV charging infrastructure, and battery energy storage systems, RenEnergy delivers scalable solutions that can evolve in line with changing business requirements. This flexibility is particularly important for organisations experiencing growth or operational expansion.
A strong example of RenEnergy’s integrated approach can be seen in the P.G. Rix Farms and Stourgarden project in Suffolk. The site operates on a large scale, processing over 100,000 tonnes of onions annually and running 364 days a year. Such continuous operations require a highly reliable and resilient energy supply to support drying, storage, and processing activities.
Working closely with the client, RenEnergy developed a multi-phase renewable energy strategy designed to significantly reduce operational energy costs while improving resilience and sustainability performance. The system includes 1.99MWp of installed solar capacity, supported by 4,790 solar panels and 32 inverters.
The installation has delivered a range of measurable benefits, including stabilised energy costs, reduced exposure to energy market volatility, and improved long-term operational predictability. Importantly, it has also strengthened energy independence, allowing the business to maintain greater control over its energy requirements.
To date, RenEnergy UK Ltd has installed over 110MW of solar PV capacity across multiple sectors. This milestone reflects both the scale of its delivery capability and its continued growth within the UK renewable energy market.
Guided by its philosophy of delivering ‘smart energy solutions for forward-thinking businesses,’ RenEnergy continues to focus on combining engineering expertise with long-term partnership. This ensures each project delivers not only technical success but also measurable commercial and environmental value tailored to client needs.
Another strong example of this capability is the Top Farm project in the leisure and hospitality sector. Here, RenEnergy designed, installed, and commissioned a fully integrated renewable energy system for a camping and caravan site, connecting the installation to two single-phase circuits supplying accommodation and site facilities.
Delivered through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), the project enabled the client to adopt renewable energy without upfront capital investment. This structure provided immediate financial benefits through reduced operational energy costs, while also delivering long-term pricing stability and reducing exposure to market volatility.
The installation includes a 50kWp ground-mounted solar PV array, four 10kW Fronius inverters, a 57kWh Fronius Reserva battery storage system, two KEBA P40 Pro EV chargers, and a Payter contactless payment terminal. Together, these systems are expected to generate approximately 50,000kWh annually, with around 80% of energy consumed directly on-site.
The benefits extend well beyond cost reduction. The system has improved energy independence, enhanced sustainability credentials, and introduced EV charging infrastructure to support both current and future demand growth. Importantly, the project was delivered with minimal disruption, ensuring continuity of operations throughout installation.
The Top Farm case study highlights RenEnergy’s ability to integrate multiple technologies into a single cohesive system. By combining solar generation, battery storage, and smart energy management, the company delivers solutions that are both technically robust and commercially effective.
