Lehmann-UMT is a metal processor that manufacturers all products in-house within the divisions of: Filter Technology, Conveyor Technology, Environmental Technology, supported by an around the clock 24/7 customer service.

In the Filters Division, the company manufactures advanced filtration systems for machine tools, enabling the recycling of cooling lubricants. This extends the lifespan of oils and emulsions, reducing waste and improving efficiency. Customers include machine tool manufacturers, metal processing companies, plastics processors, and the optical industry.

One of its most prolific filter systems is the StingR®, which is highly sustainable, boasting so much more than just a filter.

“The StingR® patented filter system is our core technology featuring ultra-fine filtration down to 2µm (in oil, emulsion and aqueous solution) in the most difficult applications. When other technologies reach their limits, our StingR® can do anything!” stated Lisa-Marie Jacobs, Marketing.

Developed for industrial production with a focus on protecting resources and preserving unique habitats, thanks to the automatic backwash filter, the most demanding filtration processes can now be implemented in an energy-efficient, low-wear and reliable manner.

The StingR® features a patented automatic pneumatic backwash filter system, making it easy to integrate into various system configurations or operate as a stand-alone solution for diverse applications. Its pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical controls are mounted directly on the filter, ensuring a self-sufficient design that is fully Industry 4.0-compatible through advanced sensor monitoring.

Contaminated media enters the filter dome from below, where chips (metal/plastic) are captured on the filter element. The cleaned medium then flows into the filter’s interior and is either fed back into a clean tank or directly to the processing machine.

The patented pneumatic-hydraulic backwashing system is demand-controlled, reactivating nearly 100% of the filter surface for optimal performance. Designed to meet your exact requirements, the StingR® operates without the need for filter aids. Various filter elements are precisely adapted to the application area and enable precise filtration with finenesses of up to 2µm, and thanks to its plug-and-play design, the system can be seamlessly integrated into existing machine configurations.

What’s more, the StingR® features a self-cleaning filter element that automatically activates when contamination reaches a predefined level. This ensures exceptionally long service life for both cooling lubricants and filter elements, even in the most demanding applications involving abrasive particles. Designed for longevity and recyclability, the filter elements contribute to the StingR®’s sustainability and positive environmental impact. Additionally, the automatic filter operates with high energy efficiency, as the backwashing process is initiated only when necessary, minimising energy consumption, reducing manual effort, saving money, and optimising performance.

A groundbreaking innovation in the biogas sector, Lehmann-UMT’s versatile Extruder is revolutionising sustainability by converting agricultural waste into valuable energy. Widely used in India and other countries, it plays a pivotal role in reducing CO2 emissions by preventing the open-field burning of rice straw. With Bioextrusion by Lehmann-UMT, a variety of organic substrates such as straw, by-products, and solid manure, can be processed in a cost-effective and sustainable manner to produce biogas.

The Lehmann-UMT Extruder is specifically engineered for defibring organic materials. Its two counter-rotating screws are precisely tailored to each application, optimising the breakdown of biological materials down to the cellular level. This innovation has set new benchmarks in the biogas sector, significantly reducing the use of peat in landscaping and horticulture while protecting vital habitats, conserving resources, and contributing to climate protection.

Designed with a modular structure, the Extruder is available in various models with connected loads ranging from 22kW to 240kW. Built for durability, it features low-wear components and an exceptional maintenance-friendly design, allowing trained personnel to perform service work quickly and efficiently.

The Extruder is individually designed by Lehmann’s experts and tailored precisely to your processes. Suitable for a wide range of industries such as biogas, wood fibre production, peat substitutes and bioplastics, the Extruder increases the gas yield in biogas plants and enables agricultural waste and residues to be used sensibly. It is also ideal for the production of wood fibre and peat substitutes from forest residues and wood chips.

For safe and reliable production with minimal wear and maximum output rates, Lehmann-UMT offers the complete environmental solution which features the perfect combination of its Extruder that has individual shredding, mixing, dosing and feeding technology as well as a special contaminant detection system.

Looking ahead, Lehmann-UMT will continue its focus on greater sustainability with a long-term goal of having a completely CO2 neutral production process.
